A prominent Imo-based public affairs commentator, Darlington Ibekwe, has commended Hon. Harrison Anozie Nwadike for what he described as an outstanding performance in the House of Representatives of Nigeria, asserting that the lawmaker has earned the trust and support of his constituents ahead of future elections.
In a statement made available to the press, Ibekwe rated Nwadike highly across the three core responsibilities of a federal legislator—lawmaking, oversight, and representation—stating that his record clearly reflects a leader who has chosen impact over accolades.
On the legislative front, Nwadike was praised for sponsoring and supporting critical bills, including those focused on healthcare institutions, research development, constituency restructuring, and economic regulation. His motions at the Green Chamber, particularly on national issues such as the port concession review and skills development initiatives, were described as timely and people-oriented.
Ibekwe also highlighted Nwadike’s strong oversight role, noting his active participation in committee assignments and national investigations, including his position as Deputy Chairman in the ongoing port concession probe. According to him, this demonstrates a firm commitment to accountability and the protection of public resources.
More significantly, he pointed to Nwadike’s visible footprint in constituency development. From free medical outreaches and youth empowerment programmes to school renovations, ICT projects, and planned large-scale economic interventions, the lawmaker was credited with delivering tangible benefits to the people of Isu/Njaba/Nkwerre/Nwangele Federal Constituency.
“He has not only understood his mandate; he has executed it with clarity and purpose. This is a representative who has brought governance closer to the people,” Ibekwe stated.
Addressing recent criticisms against the lawmaker, Ibekwe dismissed them as politically motivated, alleging that those behind the attacks are “enemies of the constituency” who are displeased with Nwadike’s refusal to divert public resources for private gain.
“These are individuals who would rather see the system exploited for selfish interests. Their frustration stems from the fact that Nwadike has refused to compromise accountability or enable fraudulent practices,” he added.
He maintained that the lawmaker’s achievements and principled stance on transparency have positioned him as a credible and dependable representative, expressing confidence that the people will reward performance with renewed mandate.
“Nwadike has done well. By all standards, he deserves to be returned. The people can see the difference,” Ibekwe concluded.
